Two of the biggest names in the automotive entertainment business, Ken Block and Need For Speed, are joining forces. Block is a rally legend and is probably best known for his Gymkhana series, episode six of which is set to premiere next month, while Need For Speed needs no introduction, with the popular game franchise first launched in 1994 now available on multiple platforms and soon to have its very own movie.

Over the next couple of years, Block will serve as ‘Racing Advisor’ to the Need For Speed franchise, lending his unique motorsport insights to help boost interest in the games and upcoming movie. In return for Block’s services, Need for Speed will sponsor him and his Ford Fiesta ST race car for Gymkhana Six.

Gymkhana Six will be released in its entirety November 11 and is expected to once again raise the bar for what can be achieved behind-the-wheel of a car. To date, the previous five episodes have garnered more than 250 million views and we suspect number six will be the biggest yet.

Meanwhile, the latest Need For Speed game, Need for Speed Rivals, goes on sale worldwide just one week later and will be available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.

“Need for Speed is a natural fit for our team,” Block said in a statement. “I feel like we both have the same goal in mind--to let people live out a fantasy of really pushing the limits of what you can do in the driver’s seat."
